In her retreat instructions, Catherine McAuley reminded the newly founded Sisters of Mercy that "our center is God, from whom all our actions should spring as from their source" and therefore "our whole life should be a continual act of praise and prayer."
We invite you to pray with us.
Prayer for the Sick
God of love and mercy
You inspired Catherine McAuley
To Serve your Son
By responding to the needs of her time.
Moved by her care for the sick,
We ask that through her prayers
You reach out with your healing love
And restore __________________to full health.
We ask this in complete confidence
Through Jesus Christ, your Son.
Prayer for the Beatification of Catherine McAuley
If you wish to join the Sisters of Mercy, their Associates, Companions and friends in praying for the Beatification of Catherine McAuley, we offer you this prayer.
Loving God, you chose Catherine McAuley for the service of your people who are poor, sick and uneducated. You inspired her to found the Sisters of Mercy that these good works might endure. Give to each of us a portion of her compassionate spirit and ardent desire to serve your suffering people.
Bless all our undertakings and grant that union and charity may always thrive among us. Graciously hear our prayer for Catherine, and by granting the favors we ask through her intercession, hasten the day when her sanctity will be celebrated by all the church. Amen.
